The word on the street is that a group of vehicles from our favorite Swedish automaker will be receiving a facelift before reaching our new Volvo dealership serving Moline. In the automotive industry a lot of tongue wagging is done in anticipation of the upcoming model year, but we're happy to report that the rumors are true.
That's correct. Confirmed by Volvo at this year's New York International Auto Show, the 2014 lineup will feature revisions to the S60 and XC60. Not to mention, there'll be a new member to the group. The V60 wagon, that's already seen success in markets abroad, is coming stateside.
As if that's not enough, excitingly, there's more. The three aforementioned models will be receiving fresh R-Design trims to accelerate the vehicles' sporty style and performance.
What exactly will the R-Design bring to the table?
For starters, the chassis that the V60, S60 and XC60 R-Design models ride on is more rigid than its standard counterpart, lending the vehicles a stiffer structure where it counts. Take the front bushings for example, they're 400 percent tauter.
The Volvo R-Design trims will also give the aforementioned vehicles a frameless front grille and a distinctive rear fascia. As for the interior, perforated leather and contrast stitching give the autos a stylistic boost.
