The word is spreading. Cybercom, an IT consulting company that helps leading companies get and stay connected, recently lent its services to Swedish automaker Volvo to create the first Volvo Car connected infotainment solution, which was revealed recently at the global consumer electronics show (CES) in Las Vegas.
The new system will bring with it services such as music streaming, connected navigation, and service booking. The service marks a break away from the recent inclusion of infotainment systems that rely on smartphones and tablets to provide applications and features to features being directly integrated into a vehicle's own system. This should help bridge the gap between auto manufacturers, dealerships, service providers, and drivers in the future, and we expect similar technologies to spread across the overall auto industry.
John Eliasson at Cybercom explains the new system, stating, "Based on VCC's interaction concept, and through an agile approach between Volvo Cars and Cybercom, we have succeeded in developing applications and a graphical user interface in significantly less time and with a smaller budget than would have been possible with a traditional approach."1
Of course, Mclaughlin Volvo , conveniently located at 4101 41st Street Moine, IL 61265 and serving the greater Davenport area, is always sharing the latest news, so be sure to stay tuned for additional Volvo technology updates, as well as news surrounding new Volvo vehicles.
