Jerry Seinfeld is, without a doubt, a man with great comedic ideas. Of course he's best-known for Seinfeld, but his internet series is a side-splitter as well. For those of you unfamiliar, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee is an array of episodes in which Jerry, along with a variety of his funny-minded friends, drive together to get a cup of java. As you may expect, hilarity typically ensues.
Now, if you're wondering why, on our McLaughlin Volvo blog, we're calling attention to this comical series, other than to provide drivers with a chuckle, allow us to explain. You see, the most recent episode not only stars late-night legend David Letterman, but the talk show host's 1995 960 station wagon as well.
Yes, Letterman is the proud owner of a Volvo 960, but this isn't just any used car. Unlike those available in our Moline, IL showroom, this one is fitted with a hulky 5.0-liter V8 engine from an American automaker. All jokes aside, this modified wagon, a suggestion from the late, Paul Newman, is powerful. In fact, not only can it fit your groceries, but you can burn some rubber leaving the parking lot.
At least, that's what Seinfeld does at the beginning of the episode.
