New Volvo EX30 New Interior Features Available

The inside of the all-new Volvo EX30 is like a breath of fresh air. Various unique interiors were designed around a specific nature scene — Breeze, Mist, Pine, and Indigo. Breeze evokes a refreshing summer day. Mist is inspired by the light of dawn through morning mist. Pine calls to mind lush Scandinavian evergreen trees. Indigo brings on the first touches of dusk. Each of these design inspirations is accompanied by seating materials and decor distinct from the rest.

Breeze is accompanied by Pixel Knit and Nordico seat upholstery. Pixel Knit is a 3D knit upholstery made with pine oil, while Nordico is a textile made from recycled materials like polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastics, which are found in bottles and other household plastics. You’ll also find particle decor throughout interiors designed around Breeze — particle decor is partially made from recycled PVC window frames and roller shutters.

Next up is the Mist interior scene. Mist is paired with a tailored wool blend that’s ethically sourced. You’ll also find flax decor throughout the cabin, which is made from linseed plants, a renewable fiber.

Scandinavia’s rich forests really bring the imagination to life. The Pine interior strives to imitate this inspiration with a wool blend and Nordico seat upholstery, as well as flax decor.

Indigo, meanwhile, captures the essence of a night on the town. Not only is the color scheme heavily inspired by the deep blues and purples of the day drawing to a close, but the decor truly captures the essence of people set free from the confines of daytime. You’ll find denim decor that’s 50 percent recycled jeans throughout the cabin. The seat upholstery is made from a mix of recycled textiles and Nordico.

All of four these interior designs also come with satin silk trim on the steering wheel and textile inlay mats made from old fishing nets and other discarded materials.

New Volvo EX30 New Battery Options

There are two power sources available for the new Volvo EX30 — single motor extended range and twin motor performance. Both have a 69 kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery capacity. The single motor extended range powertrain is paired with rear-wheel drive (RWD), produces up to 268 horsepower, and can charge from ten to 80 percent in just 26.5 minutes. The more powerful twin motor performance battery can accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in just 3.4 seconds, produces up to 422 horsepower, and is paired with all-wheel drive (AWD).

When it’s time to charge your EX30, a charging reminder is automatically pushed to your driver information display. You’ll be directed to find a nearby public charging station with help from built-in Google Maps™. Once you’ve chosen your charging station, you’ll be shown turn-by-turn navigation directions, an estimated time of arrival, and what your charge level will look like once you’ve arrived. An exciting feature of this system is that once you have chosen your charging station, your vehicle will start pre-conditioning the battery, which can look like either pre-cooling or preheating, depending on the day’s weather. Preconditioning optimizes the battery so it can charge efficiently once it has been plugged in.

New Volvo EX30 New Technology & Safety Features

The new Volvo EX30 brings innovation to the technology and driver assistance systems available. Set into the center console is a 12.3-inch tablet-style display designed to keep driver information in a visible location. This display offers two viewing options — calm view and surround view. Calm view allows you to focus only on key vehicle information. The surround view also gives you access to active driver support systems and a view of vehicles around you, as well as the same information the calm view presents. Other new infotainment technology features include the next-generation Snapdragon® Cockpit Platforms infotainment system and access to a 5G Wi-Fi® hotspot.

Driver assistance systems in the new Volvo EX30 have been designed to sense and react to imminent road challenges. Rear radars around the outside of the vehicle are used to detect cyclists from behind. If a cyclist is detected and one of your passengers are about to open a door, a sound and light alert both occur to warn your passengers not to open the door.

Another means for detecting obstacles around your EX30 is the 360-degree camera system. This camera view automatically pulls up on the center display when you are reversing or driving towards an obstacle at a low speed. You can also use a 180-degree camera view to further analyze what’s happening around your vehicle. Both of these views can be pulled up side-by-side on the center display so you can see exactly what’s happening around your EX30 at a glance.

The EX30 also comes with automatic parking capabilities thanks to park pilot assist. The EX30 will steer, accelerate, brake, and even parallel park with minimal assistance from you. You do retain the ability to take over manual control of parking, and should do so if anything seems amiss.
