However this time around, Volvo is doing something new within the realm of safety: a realm for which the Swedish automaker is very well known.
Specifically, Volvo has added a very clever feature to its new V40 model: pedestrian airbags.

Pedestrian airbags are essentially airbags outside the vehicle that are geared toward protecting pedestrians should one ever collide with a moving vehicle. And, while the future likely has in store features like active safety auto braking and the like, in the meantime pedestrian airbags are a pretty genius idea, if we do say so ourselves.
