If your gaze has been set longing overseas on the V60, you might be in luck. Without having to board a plane to Europe, it's possible that you'll be able to test drive this fashionable Volvo wagon here in Illinois.
According to one of the brand's executives, Doug Speck, the automaker will make a decision regarding the wagon's fate in the U.S. as soon as the end of June or early July. That could put the V60 in the new Volvo lineup by mid-2014.
This is a story we'll be following very closely at Mclaughlin Volvo; we've been wondering if this day would come.
In fact, since landing on the European market two years ago, automobile enthusiasts have been speculating on when the Volvo V60 may be introduced to the American market. We're betting that the sleek model will come stateside because it offers something that domestic consumers crave: good fuel-economy.
The V60 gracing the European market is a diesel. Of course, it's possible for that platform to change. However, the rising demand for efficiency in the United States will likely put pressure for the wagon to meet that unanimous desire in some fashion.
As we mentioned, there's been no official announcement. Dedicated to keeping you informed, we'll post updates on our Volvo blog. In the meantime, visit our showroom at 4101 41st Street in Moline, IL with any questions or to enjoy a test drive of the vibrant new and used cars available!
