Last month a crime took place that rocked Sweden, and us. You see, across the Atlantic Ocean in our preferred Scandinavian automaker's home country there's a Volvo P1800. As many of you know, this vehicle is a classic. It's a sporty two door coupe that's quite stylish, and this particular example was the model's very first example, which makes it even rarer.

So, what happened?

Well, the Volvo coupe was stolen from its owner, who lovingly keeps it in a locked storage facility outside of Stockholm.

As a used Volvo dealer serving Davenport, we're certain that you can imagine our dismay. Understandably, many Swedes felt the same way and, happily, the nation rallied to bring the iconic P1800 back to its rightful owner.

In fact, in addition to an official investigation headed up by the police, a local non-profit termed the Larmtjanst AB jumped up to help find the first-ever production Volvo P1800. This second group is particularly apt for the cause; they're dedicated to fighting automotive crime, such as vehicle thefts, in Sweden.

Well, at McLaughlin Volvo, we're thrilled to report that the classic ride was found by the aforementioned non-profit and is safe and sound with the vehicle's proprietor. This guy also happens to be the Vice President of the P1800 Club.

Of course, we're pleased to hear that the classic P1800 has been returned, after all, it's the predecessor of the stellar new Volvo models available in our showroom here in Moline, IL. Speaking of which, to arrange a test drive in your favorite vehicle, we welcome you to visit us, anytime.
