The XC in Volvo's XC60 stands for "cross-country," high implies this a crossover wagon that can go anywhere. However, last year's model was front-wheel-only. This problem has been rectified for 2016, and the all-new Volvo XC60 received high marks from Motor Trend in a recent review.
The big news is the XC60's revised engine, which is a supercharged and turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four that puts out 302 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, and now packaged with the aforementioned all-wheel drive. With an eight-speed automatic transmission, the XC60 gets from 0-60 mph in a quick 6.3 seconds. The addition of all-wheel drive erases the torque steer experienced when the power was routed to the front wheels alone, noted Motor Trend.
The XC60 is well equipped for long rides. When we got our speeds up a bit on the twisty bits, Motor Trend really appreciated the nicely bolstered driver’s seat, which achieves a near-perfect balance between sportiness and comfort.
